Community Clouds: Supporting business ecosystems with cloud computing
Cloud services available so far mainly focus on horizontal solutions and rarely consider industry-specific requirements in terms of functionality or security. While
in this way the cost benefits of cloud-based services can be achieved (by maximising economies-of-scale effects), it is at the same time a major disadvantage in many potential application areas. In various industries such as healthcare or in the public sector, for instance, strict regulations inhibit the broad adoption of cloud computing although the fundamental concept is interesting for many companies.
Community clouds provide the capability to realize business processes “in the cloud“ and at the same time preserve a high security level by means of hybrid
deployment models. Non business-critical information and processing can be sourced to the public cloud, while business critical services are kept in-house or in a private cloud environment at a trusted outsourcing partner.

NHS White Paper article
The NHS White Paper "Liberating the NHS" published in July 2010 represents the first substantive policy announcement on the future of the NHS from the Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition and it has been argued that the plans contained within the White Paper could lead to the most radical change to the architecture of the NHS since 1974. The policies set out in the White Paper are intended to correct some of the problems which the new government perceives exist within the NHS.

Guide to Efficient MRO Procurement & Management

This White Paper will examine the issues surrounding MRO spares procurement, the benefits achievable through a sustained and proactive approach and the options available to drive efficiency into this key area of the manufacturing operation, including a look at how outsourcing the entire process to a single specialist supplier can create significant efficiencies in both cost and productivity.

Public Service Transformation and Reform
The performance gap between private and public service provision is widening. Yet this is happening at a time when there is cross-party recognition of the need for reform of public services and when investment is casting a spotlight on public sector productivity rates. This paper argues that alternative service delivery models (ASDMs, a mix of public private and third sector provision) are inevitable as a prerequisite for transformation; only the quantity and pace of change is unknown.
