The UK’s upcoming carbon reduction committment could see UK companies moving work and hence, carbon emissions around through increased outsourcing. For example, a UK company could move all their datacentre requirements to India and look great carbon-wise in the eyes of the government.

This is clearly a bad thing when global warming is clearly a worldwide problem.

I would say the scheme definitely needs postponing or some serious revision before it creates what amounts to carbon laundering around the world.
